Dwarblin
A downloadable game for Windows
Welcome to Dwarblin, a game of unlikely allies. Play as Gobi or Dwarv, two adventures stuck in the depths of a dungeon together. With their strengths combined, the dungeons should be a piece of cake, but only if they can cooperate long enough to make it out alive.
Controls:
D/A -> move right/left.
Space -> Jump
Left Shift -> Bash (Dwarf/Blue), Dodge (Goblin/Green)
Click -> Fire Arrow (Goblin only)
W/S -> Climb when near rope.
W/S -> Climb on the wall (Dwarf Only)

All of the assets, code, and sounds were made by me using a few tools and references that I'd like to call out.
The art style is inspired by vector graphics such as those found here. My goblin is directly inspired by user Meilun (who's linked there).
Sound effects were made using Chirptone by SFB Games.
And my character controller is my own interpretation of a video series by YouTube channel BoardToBits. Specifically their series on modular character controllers.
Creators Note:
Hi! Zeta here. This is my first-ever game jam (and the first-ever game) I have made. I have dabbled here and there with unity and I am pretty comfortable with code but this has been an interesting adventure to complete this project. All that's to say, it's not perfect, or even close, and I wanted to share a bit of the vision I had behind the project going in.
Dwarblin was supposed to be a single-player platformer puzzle game where you play as either a goblin or a dwarf (hence, the name). Meanwhile, the other adventurer would be there following you around and kind of doing it's own thing. The characters' abilities are supposed to complement each other and provide them with unique problem-solving abilities. There is just one catch, you can only directly control one of them but both of their abilities are needed to complete the game. So part of the "joined together" part of the theme was going to be you have to manipulate the AI of the other character to get it to do what you want.
If you've already checked it out, it's pretty needless to say that I wasn't able to deliver that. Buuuut I think the backbone is there. Please, let me know what you think, how to improve, and any resources you'd suggest I check out.
